Steven Morgan, MD | FAAOS | FACS
Dr. Morgan is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in orthopedic trauma, with a primary focus on the care of multiply-injured patients. His expertise includes complex pelvic and acetabular fractures, nonunions, infections, amputations, periarticular and periprosthetic fracture management, and limb deformity correction of upper and lower extremities.
Dr. Morgan earned his medical degree from the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center. He then pursued specialized fellowship training in orthopedic traumatology at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Dr. Morgan began his career at Denver Health Medical Center in 1998, where he became Associate Director of Orthopedics and Program Director for the Orthopedic Residency at the University of Colorado. His dedication to patient care, education, and research earned him the rank of Professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. In 2010, he transitioned to Swedish Medical Center to further advance orthopedic trauma care and co-founded Mountain Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeons (MOTUS).
A leader in clinical and biomechanical research, Dr. Morgan remains actively involved in advancing fracture care techniques. He has a particular interest in minimally invasive fracture fixation, utilizing advanced technologies to reduce soft tissue trauma and improve patient outcomes. In addition to his trauma expertise, he maintains an elective practice in total hip replacement, specializing in the anterior approach to optimize recovery and restore function.
Dr. Morgan is a Diplomat of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and an active member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery. He also serves as a physician for professional rodeo athletes at the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo every year.
